Joel Hartt

Joel Hartt began his career as an actor and musical theatre performer, eventually landing leading roles in local productions of the Noel Coward revue OH, COWARD!, the Broadway hit BYE, BYE, BIRDIE, and Stephen Sondheim’s ground-breaking musical FOLLIES. He also received critical praise for his performance of the musical lead in TWELFTH NIGHT BLUES at the Stratford Festival. After studying for several years with some of Canada’s and the United States’ preeminent jazz musicians and vocalists, Joel has had the privilege of headlining at numerous venues, working with some of the finest jazz musicians in the country. With a lush, expressive vocal delivery, Joel Hartt sings the best of the classic jazz/pop songbook repertoire with distinction.

Kelly Holiff

A recent graduate of Randolph Academy for the Performing Arts, Kelly’s starring roles have included Emily in A Story about Emily Carr, Mrs. Potts in Fallen Rock’s Beauty and the Beast, Sister Robert Anne in Nunsense, and Babe Williams in The Pajama Game. Kelly had her debut public jazz performance in July at JazzCab singing Harold Arlen, and received a tremendous response, so we're looking forward to seeing what she does with Harry Warren this time around.

Allyson Morris

Allyson's vocals are sultry sweet, yet filled with a rich soulfulness. While performing, either a ballad or a swinging upbeat tune, she emotes passion in each and every note. She has in the past lent her talents to producing, arranging and providing back-up vocals on various musical ventures. A CD is in the works, which will include original songs as well as jazz favorites. Keep your eyes and ears open for this new musical vocal gem.

Kristen Rundle

Somehow it's in the blood of this perky Australian. It might be because, as the fourth generation of an unbroken chain of working class singers, actors and entertainers, the talent for selling a song was hardwired into her soul. It all began, she says, when her father discovered that the eight year-old singing along to Lionel Richie in the living room sounded quite good. From there she began a journey that has been mainly focussed on classical ensemble singing. Kristen has performed as a soprano with chamber choirs in Sydney, Australia and Montreal, and has been a member of the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir and Mendelssohn Singers. Meeting Whitney Smith has led to a fully-fledged exploration of her previously under-explored jazz aspirations, and she has sung with his Swing House quintet and the Big Steam Band.

Amy McConnell

Amy McConnell is one of the surprise talents emerging this year. Her show will be a big event that you won't want to miss. Of her repertoire for the night, Amy writes, "The music of the Great American Songbook from the first half of the 20th century represents the golden age of American popular music and Gus Kahn was one of the most prolific lyricists of the Songbook's repertoire. During his 32 year career he wrote the words to nearly 800 published songs." In her second set Amy will performing songs by Oscar Hammerstein. "[He] is probably contributed more than any other single person to the evolution of the American musical comedy from simple entertainment to a complex and sophisticated art form." - Songwriters Hall of Fame. Many of the songs he wrote the lyrics for have become well known jazz standards. Only a handful of lyricists are credited with more. Among them... Gus Khan."
